Genesis 1:9-10
Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
God slowly changes us, making us into the person that fits His plan. Removing this from us and putting that into us. Trimming harmful habits and raising new standards. God's plans for us require us to give ourselves to Him. The more fully we do this, the more change that takes place.
At each level of growth, He reminds us how much He loves us. In fact, the more we grow, the more we see it. God is love so it is a clear truth that He sees us in our walk and calls us good. Not because we have earned it, but because He sees us in His Son's righteousness inside of us.
Separation within us comes in many forms. It’s like the separation of the land masses and the islands. Within those capacities, we see what God has for us and what we should not have access to. Like a person who is a welder. They might look at the police officer wanting to do that instead, but their call is to be a welder.
Whatever the call is in our life, we can aspire to more. But real danger comes when we try to be a continent when we are an island. Not that God places limits on us (which He does in some areas and some areas he doesn’t). However, if our call is in one place and we fight against it, thinking we should be someone else, we can create a lot of interruption in our walk with God. What we must do instead is to learn to excel where God has us, realizing He might have something more after we have been faithful in the small things.
