Genesis 1:11-13
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So, the evening and the morning were the third day.
There is within us something more. A deep desire to impact the world around us. To perpetuate what is right in our hearts toward others.
We are created in God's image. So, all that makes God, God is in us and wants to come out. Something that is born within us that cannot be denied. A desire to increase and produce something supernatural. A seed.
Did you know that the true fruit of an apple tree is not an apple? No, it’s another tree. The fruit has a specific job: it’s meant to carry the seed off and restart another tree. Even if the apple hangs on the limb until it’s mature, it falls to the ground carrying two things:
1. The seed
2. Nutrition for the seed
The fruit rots and becomes fertilizer for the new seed to reproduce the tree.
Inside each of us is a seed that carries with it the necessary means to grow and reproduce something more. Not just the fruit of who we are, but the ability to experience growth and maturity. But for that to happen, we have to fall away from the things that hold us back. Like the woes and anguishes of the world.
When we choose to hang onto things that stop us from growth, we just waste away on the limb until we are no longer able to see the possibilities of a beautiful future. Sometimes we have to let go and let God do in us what we were created to do.
Are you ready to fall from the limb and become a tree?
