The Word Given: The Sun and The Moon and The Stars
In our life as Christians, it's apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Sometimes it's our neighbors. Sometimes it's our parents. Sometimes it's strangers.

Genesis 1:14-19
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So, the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
The light serves many purposes. Sometimes it is to show us things. The reality of signs and wonders comes to us through the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. So many times, when we struggle with accepting the truth of signs and wonders, it’s often because the light of the Holy Spirit is not strong in us. We accept Salvation, but there is more to our connection with Him. We must grow and ask for more of God in our lives, not be satisfied with just “being saved”.
God has also graciously given us lights to guide us. Here it is the sun and the moon and the stars. In our life as Christians, it's apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Sometimes it's our neighbors. Sometimes it's our parents. Sometimes it's strangers.
What if we chose to live in the daylight like it was midnight? Sounds foolish, but we'd be lost. Often, we find ourselves lost because we don't pay attention to the light God put in our life.
There was a time when ships were guided exclusively by stars. Storms would cause them to become lost because they couldn’t see the stars. When the light that is Jesus is not guiding us, we can become lost in life. We might have success and money and possessions, but in our hearts and in the light of eternity, we are lost. Remember, the spiritual life is the one that lasts forever, not the flesh.
The privilege we have to know Him and have that light guiding us was always the plan. I think as God looks at us and sees our desire to please Him and let Him guide us, He smiles and sees that it is good.
